Unless you’ve been orbiting Mars on a clandestine NASA mission, it probably won’t be lost on you that Geraint Thomas, Team SKY rider, Welshman, Cardiffian and former Cardiff JIF rider has won the Tour De France. Wales went wild. As did we.

We won’t add lots of words here as much has been written already (check out our Twitter account), but suffice to say that we’re very proud of G and still scratching our heads about how as a young man he was wearing one of our jerseys and 15 years later, standing atop the podium on the Champs Elysees clutching a big bouquet of flowers, with the cycling world at his feet. G deserves all the credit he gets. A respectful, loyal, patient and diligent rider, he’s proof positive that if you stick in the effort, you get your rewards.
